Growing up in Michigan is quite amazing. Some even says that it’s so fun and exciting. With all the amazing places and destinations around The Mitten State, I am truly convinced that growing up at The Great Lakes State is totally astounding.

If you grew up in Michigan, for sure there are lots of places that became a part of your childhood years. Places where you and your family gather together to relax, enjoy and unwind. Places where good memories and happy thoughts are shared with each other.

But if you are not born in Michigan and moved to the state just recently, it’s not yet too late to experience what the Michiganders did in their childhood years. Below are few of the amazing places that you should visit to complete your “Michigan citizenship”.

Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum – Farmington Hills, Michigan

A museum filled with amazing vintage machines, mechanical items, neon signs and everything that you can think of. This place can surely give you all the vibe and feels of growing up in Michigan.

Tahquamenon Falls – Paradise, Michigan

One of the best natural attractions you can find in Michigan. Your life as a Michigander won’t be complete without a visit with this enchanting paradise.

Tiger Stadium – Detroit Michigan

Michiganders loves their sports team. This is why the Tiger Stadium (now Comerica Park) is such a huge part of everyone’s childhood. Although the original Tiger Stadium was demolished way back 2009, you can still cherish its memories with Comerica Park.

Michigan’s Adventure – Muskegon, Michigan

Summertime in Michigan is seriously awesome as there are plenty of lakes, waterfalls and rivers to visit around.  Aside from the amazing gifts of Mother Nature, there’s also one huge place that Michiganders often visit during summer months – Michigan’s Adventure. This is Michigan’s largest Amusement Park and Water Park. A must visit if you wanted to really feel the Michigan childhood vibe.

Mackinac Island

This is one of the most popular places in Michigan.  Mackinac Island offers an amazing experience that you can’t find anywhere else.  Motorized vehicles are not allowed in this area so you’ll get to see plenty of people walking, riding bicycles, horse-drawn carriages and more. This is the place to be if you wanted to escape the noise around the city.

Great Wolf Lodge – Traverse City, Michigan

This amazing indoor Waterpark in Michigan is totally amazing. Kids and adults enjoys every second they spend in here.  A great place to be for a fun and exciting family activity.

Dinosaur Gardens -Ossineke

One of the most fascinating roadside attractions in Michigan is the Dinosaur Gardens. Sitting on 40 acres of land, this place is filled with massive dinosaur sculptures that kids and even adults love.
