Cranking up the heat can surely make your apartment more cozy and comfy this winter season. However, this can also skyrocket your utility bills wrecking havoc to your wallet and overall budget. So instead of bringing the heat up, why not try these apartment winter weather tips and ideas.

7 Apartment Tips For A Cozy Winter Weather Without Cranking Up The Heat

Cozy up with throw blankets

Place a throw blanket or two on your couch or chair. Whenever it gets really chilly, you can grab them off easily. Cuddling up the warm and fuzzy blanket can certainly make the chilly temperature more bearable. Do this every time you watch the TV, on a movie marathon or just chatting up with friends in the living room.

Change your bedding

Change your bedding into something that is more suitable for cold weather. Use a big or heavy comforter that can make you really comfortable all through out the chilly night. Do the same thing with your pillows, change them up to something that suits the cold temperature.

Use warm colors

Colors can create a good illusion of warm feeling. Change the colors around your home (like the color of your pillows, blankets and rugs) into the shades of yellow, red and purple.

Bake some treats

Turn on the oven and start baking some yummy chocolate chip cookie and cupcakes! The warmth of the oven plus the amazing taste of freshly baked cookies and pies can certainly make the winter cold weather more bearable. Invite some friends over and enjoy the day or night with your freshly baked treats!

Put up few more layers

Try putting on some sweaters or sweatshirts first before turning up the heat. If putting on some layers worked, then there’s no need to crank up the thermostat especially if you are home alone.

Hot chocolate, tea or coffee

Sipping up a cup of hot tea, chocolate or coffee can instantly bring you a warmer feeling. If doing this won’t work, then a bottle of wine can certainly do you good!

Warm bath

Soaking in a tub filled with hot water and plenty of bubbles can certainly help in a cold weather. Take it extra further by lighting up some candles along with a warm soothing scent. Aside from warming up your body, this tip can certainly help take the stress away from your system.

Doing these tips can certainly help in making the chilly weather more bearable inside your apartment. If you have anything to add, please let us know via the comment section below.

Also use thicker curtains. That should keep the heat in and the cold out. We really need to save up on electricity, not just for our bill but also for the environment.
