Do check the unit thoroughly before moving in

Inspect the unit thoroughly before moving in. Note each and every flaw that you notice and make sure to tell the landlord about it. Inspect all the electrical outlets, pipes and water source to make sure that they are working properly. Make sure that everything is in order before you move in. It is your landlord’s responsibility to fix all things that needs fixing before you move in.

Don’t be a bad neighbor

If you want to be treated good, then be a good person at all times. If you want your neighbors to treat you well, then treat them well at all times too. This doesn’t mean that you have to talk to them or help them out day in and out. Just be a good neighbor at least when it comes to apartment living. Keep your music at reasonable volume. Don’t throw overnight parties that could cause unwanted noise and always be mindful about your trash and other belongings. Do make your apartment your own home

Treat your apartment as your own home. There are tons of things that you can do to make it look and feel your own. Throw in your personality into it and use the color that you are comfortable with. Display your own collection and decors. Accessorize each and every corner with all the stuff that makes you very comfy at home.

Don’t wait to report maintenance issues

Don’t wait a day or two until you report an issue. As soon as you notice that there’s something wrong in your apartment, report it immediately to the landlord. This will prevent further problems from arising and could save you and your landlord lots of money in the long run.

Do clean regularly

Don’t wait until your place is filled with dust and dirt before cleaning up. Make it a habit to clean daily before going to bed. Spend at least 15 minutes f your day sweeping the floor and dusting off table tops and so. Don’t let the dirty dishes linger on your apartment. Wash them as soon as you can to prevent insect infestation.
