Moving from one apartment to another is quite stressful. Aside from the stress brought by packing and unpacking your stuff, you also need to consider the property rules in moving and your neighbors on the old and new apartment. You need to make sure that everything is set so your move will go smooth and trouble-free.

And to help you out with your apartment moving journey, here are few tips and tricks along with moving checklists.

Hire professional movers

If you want to make your moving journey easier and less stressful, consider hiring the professionals. There are lots of moving experts around you and quite sure, you’ll find one that suits your needs and most especially your budget.

Secure the parking space

Make sure that movers can park freely near your new and old apartment. If reservation of the space is needed, make sure to do it so your movers can park on it at the moving day. If you plan to do the move yourself, this is quite important too so you can freely park your truck without annoying anyone in your neighborhood.

Measure everything

Your sofa set can certainly fit inside your apartment but can it pass through the door? Make sure to measure the entrance of each and every door so you’ll know if your bulky items of furniture can pass through easily. And if one of your belongings can’t get through the entrance door, you can decide ahead of time on what to do with it (sell, donate or ask a friend to keep it for you).

Take pictures of old and new apartment

Take photos of your old apartment upon moving out. This can help you get your deposit back. Same thing goes with your new apartment, take photos of it before you move in. Take photos of corners and spaces that have issues so you can easily report it to the apartment manager or landlord.

Plan and prepare

We hired movers when we moved from one side of our state to the next. It was about a four-hour trip that we just didn’t want to do ourselves, especially through the rocky mountains. It can be pricey, but it takes a lot of the headache out of moving.

Wonderful suggestions! That list of cleaning out clearing out was quite an extensive one and important. We once had a couch, part of a set of course that just would not fit through the door. We ended up having to use a pulley type system to lift it up and onto our balcony and in through the double glass doors. Also had a landlord once say he would put in a gas dryer hook up as my set was only 3 months old then the next day say he didn’t realize he said that. Write everything just as you say.

Agree 100% about taking pictures. I had a landlord that tried to pull a fast one, then we produced the video. They backed down pretty quickly!

Professional movers is one of the best ideas there ever was. They seriously make everything so easy.

  5. There are so many kitchen accessories you will need. That list could easily be bigger. LOL!
